The department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) at the University of Canterbury has a strong international reputation. It teaches courses that are reviewed regularly against international standards, and its graduates are in strong demand. The lecturing staff are also active researchers, and have one of the best records of research publications in the Pacific region.

2013-01-31: Congratulations to Professor Tim Bell who received the ABZ "Ehrenmedaille" (medal of honour) from ETH university in Switzerland. This was presented for his fundamental contribution to computer science education through the Computer Science Unplugged project. The presentation was a part of the Swiss Day for teaching informatics. Read more »
