• Evolutionary computation: genetic programming, particle swarm optimisation
• Data mining: classification, symbolic regression, attribute selection
• Soft computing: neural networks, fuzzy inference, neuro-fuzzy systems
• Hyper-heuristic and meta-heuristic approaches to combinatorial problems, analysis of relevance
