Programming Challenge for Girls (PC4G 2015) held at UCCSSE
Programming Challenge for Girls, better known as PC4G, was recently held in the department. We had nine female Computer Science and Software Engineering students teach the programming language Alice to 39 Year Ten high school students, then had them complete three programs in Alice: two were set, but the other was a free-for-all. We then rounded off the day with a speech and a prizegiving. The high school students not only learnt how to code in Alice, but also the possibilities that coding brings.
