Abstract

In the context of parallel discrete event simulation (PDES), Akaroa2 simulation controller applies Multiple Replications in Parallel (MRIP) scenario by running multiple replications of non-distributed simulation models on networks of computers for shortening simulation time, while ensuring credibility of the final results. On the other hand, a SRIP (Single Replication in Parallel) scenario runs a single replication of simulation, partitioned among networked computers to utilise distributed memory resources for large scale simulation. A proposed MRIP(SRIP) scenario is to examine the possibility of running SRIP simulation under Akaroa2.
