Abstract

Software Engineering is becoming increasingly collaborative. The size of software projects is increasing, source code is becoming more complex, programming teams are becoming more distributed and a wide range of tools are usually employed. Even the latest tools, however, are typically single user, where little support exists to coordinate the activities and actions of fellow developers. In this seminar, we present recent work on our Collaborative Software Engineering architecture (CAISE), developed to allow any number of users and any range of tools to collaborate in real time on a shared set of software engineering artifacts.
