Abstract

This talk will be a visual and oral tour of Tim Wright's Ph.D. thesis. The thesis draws from two different areas of research, performs an empirical evaluation in each area, then presents a programming environment based on the evaluations. It will start at the beginning with an analysis of the notations used in programming environments and an evaluation of different programming notations. It will then examine collaboration and present an evaluation of different modes of collaboration. Finally, it will present a programming environment where users can interact with multiple representations of a computer program simultaneously.
