Abstract

Trusted Network Connect (TNC) is a network access control mechanism that takes the security state of access requesting endpoints into account. This mechanism is currently limited to local area networks and VPN connections. However, TNC can also be useful in other scenarios, such as security sensitive web-based applications. This presentation will give an introduction to TNC and an overview of the current state of our research. In particular, different architectural approaches for realising TNC in this environment based on authentication standards are compared.
