Abstract

This will be an informal seminar describing the somewhat extravagant events at the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) finals. This year a team of three students (Joey Scarr, Edwin Flores and Thomas Steinke) won a place in the ACM ICPC world finals in Stockholm, Sweden. They have recently returned from the event, and will report on what is involved in the competition. Undergrad students at Canterbury are encouraged to get involved in such competitions, and the team will give information to help you do that.
