Time/Place: 3:10 pm, Friday, 12 Jun, in Room 031, Erskine Building.
All are welcome.
Abstract
Nowadays the use of Information Technologies (IT) is widely extended to several fields, such as industry, marketing, e-administration and education. They are intrinsically different in many ways, hence the heterogeneity problem arises for IT producers of information to be delivered to users/consumers in the most effective way. In the talk, a brief overview of some of heterogeneity issues will be presented. In educational environments, more specific heterogeneities should be addressed such as learning profiles, collaborative environments and type of receiving device among others.
Adaptive Hypermedia Systems – AHS are adaptable, adaptive and dynamic and they can cope with above aspects and present to students the best information in the most convenient format depending of some parameters. A case study of AHS developed in the Broadband communications research group in Girona, SPAIN, will be presented in more detailed.
Biography
