Abstract

The New Zealand Computer Society (NZCS) is the professional body of the ICT sector, promoting education and setting policies, standards and practices for ICT in NZ.

But what does that mean for you?

For those continuing to work within ICT following graduation, NZCS should play an important role in your career development and direction. As well as providing professional certification (in the same way NZICA provides the Chartered Accountant certification) and the means to achieve it, NZCS is your voice whether it be to Government, industry or academia.

At this presentation you'll discover the many benefits of getting involved now as a student or graduate, including:

  • Networking within the ICT industry;
  • Certification professional recognition;
  • Ongoing professional development and educational opportunities;
  • Mentoring;
  • Participation in sector-changing activities;
  • Advocacy for the ICT profession;
  • Publishing opportunities;
  • International connections, events, conferences and publications;
  • Discounts and student business cards.

Student membership is only $10 a year.
