Abstract

UC has a leading role nationally in geospatial science – which in its purest form lies at the interface between the disciplines of geography and computer science. In this discussion, we will provide an overview of the range of activity (both in research and capability building) in (geo)spatial science at UC, provide a sense f UC’s position nationally (and internationally) in this space including in terms of government linkages, possible opportunities for co-funding of senior staff, and our ongoing aspirations to form a geospatial research institute – hopefully through a successful CoRE proposal.

Biography
