If you have any objections to your photo being taken, please email Moffat prior to the event so that we can blur your face in the images.
Rules for presenters
- You have 10 minutes (timed, including any setup time) to wow the audience with your product.
- Following that, there will be a 5 mins buffer, which can be used for 1) interacting with the crowd, now filled with intense, bubbling curiosity, and 2) for the next team in line to set up their demo/slides, etc. We don't have much time available. Please make use of it.
- You must have a demo of your system running during your presentation so that people in the audience can see your system working during your presentation.
- The presentation must be conducted by one or more of your group members. Other people can be used in parts of demonstrations (if needed), but the actual presentation must be conducted by your group.
- A laugh meter, wit meter, or a craziness meter might be used to gauge appropriate marks.
There are also a few guidelines that might be of interest to you. Note: these were written before when the presentations were formal, however, they might still have valuable advice for you.

Project overview
This years project involved building a Softball scorer app for the Android platform.
The World Softball Championships coming to NZ in 2013 has provided the impetus for our SE groups to develop a scoring app that could be used on any android mobile device.
Scoring softball has its own complexities. For more information about scoring softball, see the Softball NZ Scoring site.

BatterUp is a softball scoring application designed with the expert user in mind and the only professional scoring app on the market, for the Android platform. Utilizing the 10th edition rule set from the New Zealand Softball Official Scorers Manual, a scorer can easily transition from paper to touchscreen. Thanks to its easy-to-learn intuitive design, familiarity and readily available help system, a professional scorer can feel right at home.
But not only does BatterUp offer a touch-screen version of the paper scoring system, it offers features that can be used to retrieve game data ‘on-the-fly’ - a process usually only available post-game with the traditional paper system.

Eagles
Eagles are proud to present DigiScorer, your solution for scoring softball games.
DigiScorer was developed with a focus on being usable by any softball player or fan, without any requirement of knowing of official softball scoring notation or terminology.
DigiScorer features two modes -
A simple mode - for scoring casual games
This is for keeping track of just the essential parts of the game while being flexible in the game constraints and rules, to allow a social game of softball to be simply scored without constraining the number of players, innings or outs.
Advanced mode – for scoring competitive games
This is for serious business, allowing the game to be scored in great detail. The details of each play, including the batter’s, runners' and fielders' actions, can be tracked and then analysed for post-game statistics. It can also link into Twitter, tweeting an auto-generated live commentary feed from the play actions.
