Computational Intelligence Research Lab (CIRL)
What is Computational Intelligence?
According to Wikipedia:
| "Computational intelligence (CI) is an offshoot of artificial intelligence. As an alternative to [Good Old Fashioned AI] it rather relies on heuristic algorithms such as in fuzzy systems, neural networks and evolutionary computation. In addition, computational intelligence also embraces techniques that use Swarm intelligence, Fractals and Chaos Theory, Artificial immune systems, Wavelets, etc." |
In other words, CI is a wider, "whatever it takes" view of Artificial Intelligence, including (but not limited to)
- Intelligent agents
- Machine learning (including connectionist learning)
- AI and the internet (The semantic web, search, text mining)
- Biologically inspired systems
- Fuzzy logic
