Our research covers many different aspects of telecommunications networking. We have projects on Active Networks, Enhancing TCP Performance on both Wireline and Mobile Wireless Networks, Fast Mobility and Admission Control Mechanisms in Multimedia Cellular IP Networks, IPv4-to-IPv6 Transition Mechanisms, Control-Theoretic Approaches to Self-Similar Traffic Management, Ad Hoc Wireless Networks, Differentiated Services IP Networks and Quality of Service Routing.

15 June 2010: Mofassir Ul Haque, a CSSE PhD student from our Network and
Simulation Research Group, has been awarded a conference scholarship by
PlanetLab NZ, for participating in the 10th Wuerzburg Workshop on
"Visions of Future Generation Networks" (EuroView2010), to be held in
Wuerzburg, Germany, on August 2-3, 2010. Mofassir, who is working on his
PhD research proposal in the area of Future Internet, will also visit
the research group of Prof. Phuoc Tran-Gia in the Institute of Computer
Science at the University of Wuerzburg, which is well known for their
research on Future Internet Applications & Overlays, as a part of the
European Network of Excellence Euro-NF.
14 Apr 2010: Muhammad Asad Arfeen, CSSE PhD student from our Network and
Simulation Research Group, has been awarded a conference scholarship by
PlanetLab NZ, for participating in TRIDENTCOM 2010 (6th International
Conference on Testbeds and Research Infrastructures for Development of
Networks & Communities, to be held in Berlin, Germany) and the Workshop
on Stochastic Processes in Communication Networks for Young Researchers
(organized by International Centre for Mathematical Sciences & Cambridge
University, to be held in Edinburgh, UK). He will also visit
Telecommunication Networks Group at Department of Electrical Eng. &
Computer Science, Technical University of Berlin, and the AESOP
(Analysis, Engineering, Simulation & Optimization of Performance)
Research Group at Department of Computing of Imperial College London, UK.
18 Feb 2010: William Liu has been invited to submit the extended version of his research paper entitled "Utility of Algebraic Connectivity Metric in Topology
Design of Survivable Networks", presented at DRCN 2009, to Fast Track publications in the Computer Communications journal. Congratulations William!
01 Dec 2009: Sayan K. Ray has his research paper entitled, "Self-Tracking Mobile Station Controls Its Fast Handover in Mobile WiMAX" accepted for presentation in the IEEE Wireless Communications and Research Conference (WCNC) to be held in Sydney, Australia from 18-21 April 2010.
25 Sept 2009: Sayan K. Ray has his research paper entitled "Handover in Mobile WiMAX Networks: The State of Art and Research Issues" accepted for publication in the IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials Journal.
