CALL FOR PAPERS

JOURNAL OF HIGH SPEED NETWORKING
Special Issue On
Management of Multimedia Networking
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The increasing demands of deploying networked multimedia
applications is the main driving force for developing new network
management techniques and protocols. The successful deployment of
networked multimedia systems is significantly dependent on the
efficient
support of end-to-end and per-hop management and control that enable
monitoring and enforcing QoS in the network. Next generation management
systems and protocols are expected to be scalable to accommodate large
number of users or domains, dynamic to adapt to network and
applications
changes and high-performance to cope with real-time traffic and events.
The theme of this special issue is looking for the latest advances in
the
area of network management and protocols to support and foster the
design, development and deployment of reliable networked multimedia
applications. The scope of this special issue includes the following
topics:
TOPICS
~~~~~~
o QoS monitoring and control of networked multimedia
o Integrated network management for multimedia networks and services
o Management of multicast networks and Services (e.g., diagnosis, fault
detection and isolation)
o Scalable distributed event correlation
o Resource management in multimedia networks
o Transport protocols for real-time multimedia streams
o Flow and congestion control for reliable multicast
o Active and Programmable networks for multimedia communications
o Audio/Video streaming, push and pull technologies
o Network adaptive applications and protocols
o Testing of multimedia protocols and systems (includes multicast
protocols)
