a seminar talk on wireless network by Prof. R. Mathar (March 21, 2011, at 200.

On an invitation of the New Zealand South Section of IEEE,

Prof. Rudolf Mathar of the Aachen Academy of Technology, Germany,
and a visiting Erskine fellow to the Department of
Computer Science and EEE, the University of Canterbury,

will speak today, on March 21, at 20.00,
(in EEE building, in seminar room at level 3)

on "Third Generation Mobile Network Planning"

=======================
Abstract:

There is urgent need for tools which support the design and development
of third generation mobile networks. In this talk, some of the main
building blocks will be discussed, namely capacity
planning via stochastic modelling, deterministic radio wave propagation
prediction in urban areas, optimal cell site selection, and hot spot
detection.
