Hi:
during our next weekly group meeting (this Friday, between 1100 and
1200)
Mr Enoch Kao, a Master Student of COSC, will talk about
"Medium Access Control in Wireless Network".
*******************************************
ABSTRACT:
Wireless environment has many characteristics that are different from
wireline environment. These characteristics have major influence in the
design of network architectures and wireless Medium Access Control (MAC)
protocols. With increasing demand for providing different Quality of
Service (QoS) for different types of traffic, the challenges of
designing
a high performance MAC protocol becomes greater.
In this seminar, we will look at the basic characteristics and issues of
wireless environment. We will present different types of wireless MAC
protocols and discuss principles underneath these protocols.
*******************************************
There should be also an occasion to discuss current matters.
All welcome.
