During the next meeting of our Network Research Group 
(this Friday, June 1, 2001, at 11 am, in Room COSC315)
Carl Cook, an MSc student of COSC, will talk about his research 
project on active networks.

Abstract of the talk:
=======================

A middleware-based active network architecture has recently been
developed and tested.  After providing brief backgrounds for both
active networks and distributed middleware systems, a demonstration 
of the system will take place.  The presentation will conclude 
with a discussion of potential applications of the active network
architecture, plus directions for further work.
