Dear Author,
We would like to alert you to OSA's new online Journal of Optical
Networking ("JON"), whose inaugural issue will appear at the end of this
year and the submission deadline is 4 days away (October 1, 2001). OSA's
leaders think that JON will quickly become the standard-setter in the
publication of definitive, peer-reviewed articles in every branch of
this burgeoning field of optical networking.
We are now calling for high-quality submissions.
You'll find complete instructions on how to submit your paper at
www.osa.org/JON. Files may be in Word, WordPerfect or TeX format. And
multimedia files are welcomed.
We are eager to review your work and are particularly interested in
papers on the following topics:
Circuit and packet switched all-optical & electro-optic networks
Optical network architectures, algorithms, performance, management
Terrestrial, undersea, free-space optical, satellite, wireless, cable
networks
Protection & restoration mechanisms, architectures, performance
Wavelength routing, assignment, changing
Grooming architectures & algorithms
Network security & reliability
Signaling & routing algorithms
IP over Optical & Optical Ethernet architectures & performance
Network management for optical networks
Emerging technologies & their application to optical networks
In addition, high-quality technical papers are being solicited on
industry-related topics, including technical and architectural analysis
of hotly debated topics such as RSVP v. CR-LDP for signaling and routing
in optical networks; protection mechanisms in the public network
infrastructure; o/e/o v. o/o/o switching; economic comparisons of
different architectures; and comments/analysis on optical networking
standards activities.
We urge you to take this opportunity to be among the first authors in
the Journal of Optical Networking. OSA leaders are confident that JON
will quickly become the world leader in optical networking journals.
Best wishes for your submission,
Danny H.K. Tsang
Associate Editor, Journal of Optical Networking
