CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Session on
Performance of Parallel Architectures and Applications
in SPECTS'2002,
The 2002 International Symposium on Performance Evaluation of
Computer and Telecommunication Systems
July 14-19, 2002, San Diego, California, USA, U.S. Grant Hotel
http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/people/personal/alireza/ss.htm
SCOPE OF THE SPECIAL SESSION:
Papers are solicited which contain novel ideas and research results
relevant to the performance evaluation and analysis of parallel systems
including architectures and applications. Papers surveying the
state-of-the-art are also very welcome. The topics considered in this
special session include, but are not limited to:
* Performance models for parallel applications and architectures
* Mathematical and simulation models
* Performance measurement and monitoring tools
* Software tools
* Performance analysis and evaluation
* Performance of CPU, memory, and networks for parallel architectures
* Workload characterisations for parallel applications
* Performance of scheduling and load balancing for parallel applications
* Performance-engineered parallel applications
* Case studies demonstrating the role of performance tools in the
development of parallel applications and architectures
SUBMISSION OF PAPERS:
Authors are invited to submit manuscripts reporting original unpublished
research and recent developments in the topics related to the special
session. The length of the papers should not exceed 25 double-spaced
pages
including figures and references on 8.5 by 11 inch paper using at least
11
point font. Papers should be submitted electronically in PDF format (or
postscript) by sending it as an e-mail attachment to
mohamed@dcs.gla.ac.uk
or alireza@dcs.gla.ac.uk. All papers will be peer reviewed according to
the
procedures established by the conference. Review comments will be
provided
to the authors. Accepted papers will appear in the conference
proceedings
published by The Society for Modeling and Simulation International
(SCS).
The proceedings will be available at the conference site.
Extended version of accepted papers in SPECTS 2002 will be considered
for
possible publication in scholarly journals.
