Welcome to this month's SCS Simulation News. This electronic
newsletter is published monthly and sent to your email address.
Our purpose is to keep SCS members and others in the modeling and
simulation communities up to date on the activities of the Society for
Modeling and Simulation International. Please forward this newsletter
to friends, peers and colleagues with interests in modeling and
simulation.
Please send comments and suggestions to the newsletter editor,

1. News and developments in modeling and simulation
* Coming in March: the first edition of the new Modeling and
Simulation Magazine will be appearing as an insert in SIMULATION.
It will include general interest items such as columns by well-known
M&S personalities, news, product introductions, technology
breakthroughs, etc. Please visit the web site,
http://www.modelingandsimulation.org to see a prototype of the cover
and to obtain guidelines for submission to the magazine.
* Now there is a direct link to the Society's web vault at
http://scs.affinitycity.com Please check it out. It will continue
to build up our collection of journal and proceedings articles from
the past, present, and future.
* Plan now to attend the 2001 Summer Computer Simulation Conference
(SCSC '01) July 15-19 in Orlando Florida. Come share in the
maturation of the modeling and simulation profession, industry,
and marketplace. The theme for this year's conference is "Making
Simulation Work!"
SCSC '01 will address the rapidly growing capability to develop and
use modeling and simulation in a wide range of of application
domains. For more information, visit
