                       MCQT'02 GENERAL INFORMATION

    The Madrid Conference on Queueing Theory (MCQT) aims to be a
meeting place where scientists and technicians in the field could find
a discussion forum to promote research, encourage interaction and
exchange ideas. The conference is open to all trends including the
development of the theory, methodology and applications of Queueing
Theory.

                         MCQT'02 CALL FOR PAPERS

    A selection of papers presented at the conference will be
published in a special volume of Annals of Operations Research (AOR).
The papers submitted for publication will be refereed following the
usual standards of all major international journals. The schedule of
this process is as follows: 

    September 1, 2001: Deadline for paper submission. 
    February 28, 2002: Notification of decision. 
  

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS 

     The papers should be written in English, following either the
Baltzer      Style, or in a Latex version. 
     A Baltzer Style file can be obtained from the website 
http://www.baltzer.nl/auth.inst.html .
     Make sure that your files are complete and self-contained.
Include special macros (if any) used with your files. 
     Papers are recommended to be no longer than 20 Baltzer Style
pages. 
     Papers should be submitted via email to the conference address

                         MCQT'02 IMPORTANT DATES

    January 1, 2002: Second announcement. 
    March 1, 2002: Deadline for abstract submissions and registration
forms. 
    April 1, 2002: Acceptance notification. 
    May 1, 2002: Deadline for payment of registration fee. 
    July 2, 2002: First day of conference. 

                                MCQT'02 GRANTS

    The Organizing Committee will intend to have a few grants for
participants coming from developing countries. Each such grant will
cover local accommodation and registration fee. Grants applicants must
send no later than September 1, 2001, the following: 

   1.An extended abstract (4 pages) or the full paper submission. 
   2.Curriculum vitae. 

                        MCQT'02 REGISTRATION FEE

    The conference fee is 200 EURO. The registration fee covers
welcome party, conference dinner, coffee breaks and the booklet of
abstracts. The fee for accompanying person is 50 EURO. It covers
welcome party and conference dinner. 
    The deadline for payment of the conference fee is May 1, 2002.
After this date the conference fee will be 220 EURO for participants 
and 55 EURO for accompanying persons. 
    Registration cancellations must be notified by post or fax no
later than June 1, 2002, for total refund. After this date a charge of
20% will be retained.

                            TOURIST INFORMATION

    Madrid, the capital of Spain, is located in the heart of the
Iberian peninsula and has excellent air connections to and from most
leading world cities. Madrid contains a wide range of sites of
historic interest ranging from excellent museums (Prado Museum, Reina
Sofia Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum) to the Royal Palace, the
Madrid of the Austrias and the Monastery of the Royal Barefoot
Franciscans ('Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales'). Many pleasant
places can be visited in one day excursions. This includes Toledo (70
km. southwest of Madrid), El Escorial (50 km. northwest of Madrid) and
Segovia (87 km. northwest of Madrid).
