Welcome to this month's SCS Simulation News. This electronic
newsletter is published monthly and sent to your email address.
Our purpose is to keep SCS members and others in the modeling and
simulation communities up to date on the activities of the Society for
Modeling and Simulation International. Please forward this newsletter
to friends, peers and colleagues with interests in modeling and
simulation.
Please send comments and suggestions to the newsletter editor,

1. News and developments in modeling and simulation
* Baker Mitchell has sent the following message to SCS:
In reorganizing my library, I have come across a number of old issues
of Simulation published by SCi from the 1960's and 1970's.
Specifically I have the following:
1966 all issues bound
1967 all issues bound
1968 all issues bound
1969 all indiv.
1970 all indiv
1971 all indiv
1972 Jan- June
If you know of any individual or library who might like these back
issues, please forward this email to them and I will be happy to make
shipping arrangements. I also have a number of spring and fall joint
computer conference proceedings from that time period. John and
Suzette McLeod did such a beautiful job printing these issues; and
perhaps, they have some historical value to someone. I have run out
of room and will be forced to dispose of them if a new home cannot
be found.
You can email Baker at mailto:bam@RogerBacon.net
* The second issue of the new Modeling and Simulation Magazine will
go to press very soon. You will be able to view it online at
http://www.modelingandsimulation.org/
* The 2002 Western MultiConference on Computer Modeling and Simulation
(WMC 2002) call for papers is now posted on the web at
http://www.scs.org/confernc/wmc02/wmc2002cfp-gen.html
* The 2002 American Control Conference will be held at the William A.
Egan Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage, Alaska, USA, on
May 8-10, 2002. The ACC is an annual, 3-day event, presenting
about 800 papers, with over 1200 participants. This premier
conference focuses on advances in the theory and practice
associated with automatic control.
