The 2002 Summer Computer Simulation Conference (SCSC'02)
July 14-18, 2002
U.S. Grant Hotel
San Diego, California
Sponsored by The Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS)
- Celebrating our 50th year as the pre-eminent professional organization
dedicated to promoting the application and development of computer-based
modeling and simulation.
Come and participate in the excitement surrounding the celebration of
SCS' Fiftieth Anniversary (1952-2002). Share in the maturation of the
Modeling and Simulation Profession, Industry, and Marketplace as we go
forward into the second half-century of the Society's existence. The
2002 Summer Computer Simulation Conference will address the Past,
Present, and Future of Modeling and Simulation with a wide-ranging
technical program that will capture and stimulate the imagination as we
celebrate this milestone.
This year's Summer Computer Simulation Conference (SCSC 2002) manifests
the commitment of The Society for Modeling and Simulation International
to the successful growth of the entire modeling and simulation community
for 50 years. The profession of Modeling and Simulation stands at a
moment in history - the threshold of a new era - when the practice of
modeling and simulation is a specialized discipline recognized both in
academia and as a unique industrial concern. The coherent and systemic
application of modeling and simulation in a wide variety of problem
domains is a reality - the business and professional practice of
modeling and simulation is becoming a shared experience. Several topical
perspectives will serve to illuminate the evolution of the modeling and
simulation community. There will be three categories of participation:
fully reviewed papers, extended abstracts, and presentations.
Facets selected for emphasis at SCSC 2002 include the following:
1. Modeling and Simulation Technology (topics include, but not limited
to):

Requirements and Deadlines:
Abstracts must be submitted for review to participate in any of three
categories of participation, and should be submitted as a PDF file to
the site http://scs.proceedingscentral.com/. Full paper abstracts are
due February 28, 2002. Preliminary notification of acceptance will be by
March 15, 2002 and full paper drafts will be due by April 15, 2002.
Final acceptance notification will be May 7, 2002, and camera-ready copy
is due May 24, 2002. Extended abstracts and presentation abstracts will
be due March 15, 2002 with acceptance notification by April 15, 2002 and
camera-ready copy by May 15, 2002.
Please note that your final manuscript will need to be electronically
submitted as a PDF file to the site http://scs.proceedingscentral.com/
by June 1, 2002 to guarantee inclusion in the conference CD and final
program. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the
conference, present their work to their peers, transfer copyright, and
